I moved my PC from one house to another. Upon reconnecting the G7 Wireless mouse, it didn't work. I tried switching ion batteries, didn't work. I tried changing USB ports, didn't work. I looked in Device manager, it said under mouse: HID-compliant mouse, nothing else. I plugged in my MX-510 and device manager said: HID-compliant mouse MX-510 Optical Mouse. I found the G7 driver CD and installed the drivers for the first time, restarted my PC... still didn't work.

Ideas?

Recently contacted Logitech support with a bad 510 optical mouse. It was still under waranty, three years I believe. Logitech is sending me a new 518. I didn't even have to send in the old 510.

I just talked to Logitech, they are sending me a new G7 without me having to send it in.

Now I'm not going to keep this G7. Any recommendations for a perfect gaming mouse?

A lot of my games require the use of the middle scroll wheel 'clicker' and would prefer it not to be really hard to click. The G7's middle mouse button was a mother to keep pushing down 5-6x a minute. Something good. I'll spend up to 80-90 bucks. I'm probably going to go wired again :( I always sense that .0001 second delay for the mouses signal to get over.

Your G7 must be borked. I never had Lag with my G7.

Well I'd suggest the G5 if you liked the feel of the G7, but the scroll wheel is a bit stiffer than some of their older mice. If I were you I'd be tempted to save the cash and go with the old tried and true MX518. I traded my Copperhead (couldn't get used to the shape) for an MX518 + cash and absolutely love the 518. Wish I had gotten one a lot sooner, actually. The dpi rating isn't quite as high as the G5 but it does have on the fly sensitivity adjustment and an easy-to-click scroll wheel. :) IMO the price/performance factor of the MX518 is HUGE now that you can pick them up for next to nothing.

Oh, and if you are still willing to consider wireless, definitely check out the MX Revolution.

I've used an MX518 and while it was good, it was too big for my hand. Sold it and am using my wireless Logitech V200. Funny thing is, my gaming skills are the same as ever...
