G4 TV network shutting down Sun 11/30

thought it folded last year or two but I guess in retrospect it was the attack of the bullshit show.

If they bring back leo and yoshi and kevin-fuck that bitch- I would seriously think about working on that show for free.

Someone call up Leo Laporte and ask him to fill the channel slot with a station broadcasting reruns of TWIT episodes. He'll probably get better ratings than G4 has recently. 🙂

I used to really like G4 when I was in highschool. They had some solid original programming - Codemonkeys and ICONS I both really enjoyed and Attack of the Show was surprisingly good imo. And the fun TechTV carryovers like Screensavers, Unscrewed and Xplay were always enjoyable. But I don't know how you fill up so much time with just "tech"/"nerd"/game stuff every day and still be palatable to your average TV viewer, it was kind of inevitable that it became loaded with filler like bad movies and COPS and Ninja Warrior.

Bummer, haven't watched it in a while but I was still fond of it.

The irony was Cable television was supposed to usher an era of everyone having a voice, niche channels for small audiences such as a true technology channel etc..

Well in the 70s they thought that the future was Cable would open up the world of television to many different voices.

But instead its 300 channels of the same common denominator programming.

Yup.

AMC = "American Movie Classics"
Now known for multiple "AMC Original" series -?!?!
That's an oxymoron!

IFC = "Independent Film Channel"
Plays some of the most mainstream big-budget movies ever.
Now they have "original series" (?!?) including comedy and reality ("Whisker Wars" - ugh!).

Sci-Fi Channel
Reality shows? Fantasy shows?

Discovery Channel
Finding Bigfoot? Ghost stories? 🙁

History Channel
🙁

The Learning Channel
D:

What's left?

TechTV was great. Leo Laporte was great. And, Cat Schwartz was cute hot.

Sessler's show was great as well.

I also liked Martin Sargent. He was naturally goofy.

Then, it because G4TV, and somehow, Olivia Munn licking things was a highlight of the channel.... And, even though Kevin Pereira had his moments, he was just trying too hard.

Anyway, given the 'condition' this channel ended up in; good riddance.

Back in the day with Leo on screen savers the channel was great.

The show x-play never shows anything I would want to play

Hell, I thought it went offline half a decade ago. Did it devolve into Ms. Munn showing her flippity floppities?
