i bought my visiontek ti4600 the day it came out. i had it reserved
at best buy and everything. the other day i was installing a new hd
and had all kinds of problems, http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=32&threadid=1187409
but my video card crapped out. i took it out so i could put in a hd
and when i turned on the power, once i got a signal to the monitor
it was all vertical yellow, white and black skinny lines. when i tried
to go into bios it changed to flashing green and yellow and black and
orange lines.
i called visiontek, who now makes ati and he told me it was probably
the gpu or a mem chip. my fan has never failed and i actually had another
fan on top of it. so it wasnt due to heat.
any suggestions?
if all else fails im just gonna go with the visiontek 9800xt, for 125 off.
thats what their lifetime warranty turns out to be.
its not the mobo, since im using it right now, with a cheap vid card
and ive tried it on my other, intel, mobo. same thing.
please help.
