Link contains the map of the security zone for the upcoming g20 meeting in Toronto.

My rage level reached a peak a while back when my tickets I had purchased to see the Jays play Philly for fathers day (I know fathers day is the week before, but my dad and I are huge Jays fans and Roy was coming home this weekend... and so was I) were refunded when the series moved to Philly because of this shit. So much for seeing doc return...

More than a billion dollars this is costing us tax payers up front. I can't imagine how much money is being pissed away closing the busiest part of Canada for an entire weekend...

No wonder folks protest these things... I don't care what they are going to be meeting over... have a meeting in a government building that already has security..

It all seems like an excuse to flex the police state muscle they government rarely gets to do... Papers required to go to work or home if you live in one of the condo's down town...

The money could pay for Toronto's entire police budget for more than a year... and this is for one god damned weekend. Where i that money going? Why do we need to have this meeting in the first place and why does it need such security.. this is Canada not Somalia.. Perhaps people wouldn't protest them as much if they were to hold them somewhere else instead of the most popular location on a summer weekend in Canada...

I work within the security zone so I'll be required to have an identification pass. Don't mind that all that much, but this really isn't worth spending nearly a billion dollars on. Should have held it on the CNE grounds!

We could bus in a whole passel of illegals to do security duty. I'm pretty certain they'd work cheap. Plus, they know a lot of tricks for evading authorities that they could put to good use defending the attendees.

They might want to stay and reap some bennies though.

Let's view the case for some sort of mansion or retreat in the countryside -

1) Security would be cheaper
2) Other people wouldn't be as affected

But, being politicians, they need CAMERA TIME! It's just a show.
