I just installed an app that uses Grand Central

Adding Grand Central to My Faves, and setting up Grand Central's forwarding to your cell # gives you unlimited free calls in and out with the application.

This rocks :) Heck, I may even let my Skype # expire if it works well...

yep loving it so far :) best part is things will only get better. lots of early adopters who complained about this phone but I see it surpassing the iphone if the trend continues.

Probably not much, Grand Central isn't giving out invites, so the number of folks who can use it is fairly limited.

It's also just a matter of time till unlimited calling cell plans are the norm, I think the carriers see the writing on the wall.

Are grandcentral accounts really that useful? I signed up for like 4 when it was still open a few years ago.

Mine just sat unused for years till this app came out. If it continues to work, I'll drop my Skype account...

It gives me a phone number to give out to companies that I don't want to talk to anyway, and gives me a way to spend hours on the phone with customer service without burning up cell minutes.

You have to have a couple things for the app to work...

1.) A My Faves cell plan that allows you unlimited calls to 5 people
2.) A Grand Central account - Grand Central gives you a working phone number & either works as a web based answering machine or a call forwarding service.

The app dials out on your Grand Central # as a My Faves selection (you have to make your Grand Central @ a My Faves selection), and the app allows you to use your cell phone contacts to be dialed through the GC #. That makes all your outgoing calls "free".

GC already supported call forwarding, so you ensure the settings show the GC # as the incoming # and you have "free" incoming calls.

Hmmm, could you use this when you travel overseas or do roaming rates apply even with my faves?

Not sure, but I've heard if you cross the international date line & call your future self that TMobile charges you 2X roaming.
