Hi, I'm running an ABIT NF7-S mobo with an athlon XP-M 2600+ and I seem to run into numerous errors when I ran memtest. I didn't do any overclocking whatsoever, in fact, I'm underclocking below manufacturers specs. My sig has the complete system. I'm currently running the processor at 220 fsb 10X (2.2 ghz) and the ram timings were either stock or loosened. vdimm was left at 2.6v. Anybody run into the same problem using my mobo?

Hi There!

Sometimes higher-rated RAM plays funny with low volts. Try raising your ram voltage to 2.7V or 2.8V and see if that solves the issue. Also, some fast and new RAM doesn't play well with nForce-2 chipsets, try the RAM in a friends' rig and see if you have the same issues.

If not, then I would say that you have a dodgy pair [happens although not often] and you should RMA it direct to G.Skill for replacment.

Hope this helps,

I also would try a voltage bump to about 2.8 vlts.. I had that Abit board for a while..It want too bad of a board but it did seem to like a little extra voltage for good RAM performance.

Don't really see why I should bump up the voltage if I'm going to run it at stock specs. Besides, I'm afraid to do so because I heard UCCD chips are sensitive to voltage increases, even up to 2.8v. Also, emailed g.skills rma dept. Said Nforce2 boards weren't designed to run 2 gb in the first place and may have compatibility problems. Oh well, thanks for everything everyone.
