G SKILL ECO memory

Ok so i am shopping for DDR3 1600, i notice these guys have by far the lowest voltage product at 1.35V despite even CL7 rating.

how do they make this product? The very low voltage seems to imply a different source for their chips.
Don't most of the memory module manufacturers buy their chips as commodity items? Or does G SKILL make their own chips?

These DIMMS apparently make use of newer 40nm chips. Whether or not these come from Elpida, Hynix, or Samsung is unknown to me.

Geil offers 1.3V but at higher latency. I have the G.Skill ECO but heat-sinks cover the chips so I can't tell you the manufacturer. Presumably some reviewer has removed them to check.

I don't know the IC, but it works very well @ low voltages.

They don't OC nearly as far as higher voltage rated kits though, even with more vDIMM.

Basically if you want nice tight timings @ low voltages @ good speeds, they're awesome.

If you want the best possible speeds (DDR3-2000+), these are not the ones for you.

I think they're a great choice overall.
