G.SKILL 4GB DDR2 800 SDRAM Dual Channel Kit

Got this for my e8400 OC build. I should have gotten the 1066 Edition for the same price, because this is not stable above 1.9.

Actually there are two 1066: $45 cas 6, and $55 cas 5. I think the DDR1000 sits in the sweet spot at $50 cas 5.....of coarse I'm biased as you can see in my signature .

Yeah been at that price for a long time now. Its decent. As others stated, $5-$10 more and you can get ddr 1000 or 1066 for almost the same price.

Oh, I agree that the 1000 or 1066 are a better deal for those looking to overclock or their motherboard supports those speeds.

My board supports up to ddr 800 and I'm not an overclocker, so this deal works best for me.

I agree. Had to replace a couple of sticks through their warranty service, had no troubles at all.

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) $44.99

What do you guys think?

EDIT: Apologies for not reading the entire thread before posting this, either way I just had some Crucial Ballistix 1066 die on me so I am thinking the 44.99 ones will be a good replacement.

get the ddr1000 cas5

......and ya, Crucial Ballistix  RMAd a few sets myself.

That's like saying DDR800 cas5 IMO. I'd get the Gskill for $35. Trust me, it will do 1066 @ cas7.

Not to steal the OP's thunder, but wouldn't these be a better deal at the same price? G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

Cool heat spreaders and a bunch of reviewers are claiming 1066mhz stable @ 5-5-5-15 at 2.1v.

Yours is $50 + shipping......OP is $35 shipped 😕.

Yeah, I noticed that later, my bad. 😱

Anyway, thanks to the OP, I looked around at all the G.Skill memory and picked up two of these for $99.98 all in. The fancy black heatspreaders were worth the additional $10 to me.

Thanks! Now I have 8GB of DDR2 sitting around.... going to have to build a low-power AMD server sometime soon to utilize some of this ram.

Decided to buy with promo code.

Will see how they stack up against the basic Crucial and OCZ 2 GB kits I am currently using.
