I'm mad now cause I just bought the 800 kit for more! :|

Oh well. I would refuse delivery, but I ordered other parts too. I'm also mad they stopped the combo deal with the 800 kit with the 640gb WD drive.

...only if you plan to upgrade to 64-bit OS and have 64-bit applications so that you can actually make use of all the 8GB of memory.

Yes, I have Vista Business 64. I am just not sure I will use more than 4GB before Photoshop supports it.
The other thing is, will this kit be available in a year? or two? and how much will it be then?
But this is so cheap, I will probably get it anyway. One can always run several apps at once.

Cheers

This is a really good deal, I have the same sticks right now and they do 1100 mhz just fine.

I'm sooooo tempted to get these ... I have the 4GB (2x2gb) of the DDR2 800 which I have OCd to 900 right now and it's rock solid... been running seti 24/7 for a week on with no problems what so ever. the X3210 that I have on this board (badaxe2) is OC'd to 2.4Ghz (2.13 stock)

GRRR... It's OOS now. I had it in my cart for several hours while I was picking out other things and when I tried to apply the promotion code it took the sticks out of my cart. Oh well, I dropped back to the PC-800 for $84.

(Yikes, it has been a LOOONG time since I have posted here. I betcha can tell by looking at my sig why I am ordering new stuff!)

damn I just bought a DDR2-800 4gb kit for 75 bucks... then I realized that o/c'ing RAM while maintaining the same CPU clock isn't hard at all. how much difference does it make to jump from DDR2-800 to DDR2-1000?

No, not actually. You have to apply the promo code (and you have to be subscribed to their newsletter for the promo code to work).

I picked these up last week and they are running completely stable at 1080. Great deal. I'm considering picking up another set for 8GB, but afraid that may cut down my OC headroom.

Unbelievable just one year ago, DDR2 1000 was selling for around $200.
