The thing is I've not found a review on that Mushkin and I know the Ballistix will do decent timings around 240MHz and can run 1:1 up to 300MHz with 3-3-3 timings.

The Ballistix are nice but pricey.. I really wish I just had my Rev 2 except 2x1GB.. I may just send the G.Skill's back and not buy anything yet..
I would get an RMA from G.Skill, but I don't really trust the memory with the dividers and such..

I still think it was impressive when the GSkill rep to asked someone to pick a serial number between 0 and 99 (corresponding to the number of sets sitting right in front of him). Someone said 69 of course, and he pulled out the set that ended in that S/N and proceeded to test. He hit DDR500 immediately. (Has the photos and screenshots to prove it see here starting at thread #332: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=77205&page=14&pp=25)
Mine are equally as easy to work with.
The biggest thing I found is to enter all of the settings exacly, to the T, in the bios. It could very well be a memory controller problem also. Sometimes you can overcome it with higher Vcore...

You have to loosen timigs as you go up. Try 2.5-3-2-5-1T @ 2.7v at DDR450. If higher than DDR470 use 3-3-2-5. This memory does not respond that much to voltage. It works almost the same 2.6-2.8v. Don't bother going higher than 2.8....

Are you running a 180 divider?
The sticks I have are definitely bad.. So I am praying the next set it good.. At least I could pop my Rev 2 back in and Im back @ it with 235 @ 2/3/3/8 1T

Yes, they work at CAS 2.5 DDR450 at default voltage. I didn't know these sticks don't respond to voltage well. I still feel that they are an excellent value at $185 shipped.
Got my new sticks..
Able to run 225 @ 2.5/3/3/8 (2.7v)
Memtest made about 4 passes then I just killed it so I could use the computer..
I will push them further, but I don't want to drop to Cas 3.
I dont want DDR 500 @ 3/3/3/8..

These are the same G.SKILL's? Mine wouldn't even do that @ 225. I finally said fvck it and dropped to the next divider (made it like 208MHz?) and I couldn't even do 2.5-3-2!!! :| Had to do 2.5-3-3, which is plan f-ing irritating.Originally posted by: bjc112

Same ZX sticks.. My first ones wouldn't even run 192mhz @ 2/3/3/8
These ones are running just fine. I'll push the bar with them soon! I am hoping for 250mhz @ cas2.5 which might be a pipe dream!
I would be more happy with a 2005fpw than tighter timings and memory speed
