but he's far less annoying than almost anyone else on food network.

Same here, though seeing that he's evidently on the Food Network, that explains it. I can't say that I'm a big fan of food; it's a fuel source first, enjoyment second.

 
I was just talking with a couple of people and they just hate Alton, while I think he's funny and interesting. They went on to say they liked Guy Fieri, who I think is a total douchebag. Some people just rub you the wrong way, I guess.

I have yet to meet anyone who likes Guy Fieri, in fact that's so hard to believe it blows my mind 😛

I'm not an Alton disciple like so many of you. Some of his ideas are good, some are mediocre and some are poor and he's not nearly as clever as he thinks he is. But he's at least trained and knowledgeable. Guy Fieri is a major douche, he doesn't have Alton's credentials or training.
