Probably going to get flamed for this but the 6600 GT 8x is available for pre-order from Buy.com. I'm sure it's been discussed somewhere but I didn't see it discussed here in HD.

AGP !!!! Finally !!! Its interesting after reading all these reviews, with initial MSRP's set for $199 how they are rumored to, and now obviously are, going to sell for a good bit more. I'm torn between a 6600GT at a good price and a 6800 Hot Deal (I missed the BFG 6800 for $250 already).

MSRP is determined by who makes it. You can find some for as low as $195 at newegg (PCI-E version)

MSRP is for a bare card, retail boxed. The XFX has extras:
dual DVI
game bundle (X2: The Threat, Commandos 3, NASCAR Thunder 2004)
1.6ns memory (my 6600GT PCI-E does and the sample 6600GT AGP I saw also does)

Get a 6800 if you can. My overclocked 6600GT ($179 shipped 😉) only matches a 6800 at stock speed in performance. The 6800 also has the chance of unlocking all 16 pipelines, and overclocking the core/memory does a lot more than on the 6600GT (12 pipelines, 256-bit memory vs 8 pipelines, 128-bit memory). Cores on 6800s usually go to 400MHz, at least.

I really like my 6600GT, but for AGP a $249 6800 is a better deal than $220 for this buy.com 6600GT AGP.

I'll hop in here since one of buddy's who I do computer work for is waiting for this card in AGP per my recomendation. It's good to see that these should hopefully hitting retail soon. We are shooting for $200 so once multiple manufactures start making them that should be likely.
