It's possible the official website is wrong. Because T-Mobile is also saying the phone is HSPA+42 (keeping my fingers crossed on this one).

they've updated the play store page now. it is 42mbps dc-hspa+

I'm considering this, but I have the SGS2 (i777) and am honestly happy enough as long as CM continues to release for this phone. I know they're starting to drop some support due to Samsung not wanting to release any Exynos/Mali specs, so hwcomposer and the like are permanently broken, as a practical matter. But to be honest, I've barely noticed - CM10 runs on the i777 very nicely.

Maybe I'll just wait another year. The Nexus 10 looks far more interesting to me right now.

I wonder if the speaker would be louder then the Nexus. That would be a decent reason to upgrade.

I've thought about upgrading just for that reason. Even with Volume+ at +14 my Nexus is still super quiet. LG also seems to have stronger antennas (my work is a black hole for cellphones, but LG has managed a bit better on the same network, from my experience).

So you know the i9100 devs who moved on to the Xperia T? In 3 weeks, the Xperia T development for CM10 has surpassed the SGS3 i9300, and certainly the i9100. I would say CM10 runs on my i9100 like CM9. Unless the i777 got some special stuff, Butter and stuff shouldn't be working yet.

Wouldn't be that hard to top the GNex speaker.

What sucks is that after the JB update, Volume + only works for music, it doesn't affect any notification/alarm tones, even the ringtone. The dev has said he's working on it, but nothing has worked as of yet.

I know that stuff isn't working on the i777, but what I'm trying to say is, I either have no basis for comparison or I just don't notice. I've been running a CM10 nightly as a daily driver since Entropy started releasing the experimentals this past summer.

There was some discussion earlier in the thread about Nexus 4 connectivity. Here is a link to the FCC reports that contain more detailed information than available on the Google web page. As per "SAR report part 1," transmission frequencies include 802.11a and 802.11n at 5GHz (refer to pages 6, 33-34). WLAN hotspots are supported at 2.4GHz.

Yea, definitely go off contract on T-Mo and buy the phone from Google.

Through T-mo - 500mins/unlimited text/2gb data:
69.99(24)+199= 1878.76

Through Google - 500mins/unlimited text/2gb data:
49.99(24)+349= 1548.76

Difference of $330, you could buy another Nexus 4 with the savings...

T-Mo's value plans are easily the best value for a consumer when you're looking at a contract plan. $20 cheaper a month just because they don't subsidize the phone for you. It's what I'm currently on with a family plan and it's 93 a month and that's with me paying 15 a month for the phone I bought for my mom. They do payment plans on phones instead of subsidies for their value plans.

Agreed, the T-Mobile price is not attractive. Here is some updated pricing info: T-Mobile charges $200 up front with 20 payments of $15 for a total of $500 (equivalent to their retail price, and $150 more than buying directly from Google).

These are the more economical plans based on usage and carrier preference:

- $30/month T-Mobile Monthly4G: 5GB data, unlimited texting, 100 minutes talk plus $0.10 per extra minute of talk
- $45/month Straight Talk on your choice of AT&T or T-Mobile: ~2GB data, unlimited talk, unlimited texting
- $60/month T-Mobile Value Package: unlimited data, unlimited texting, 500 minutes talk
- $70/month T-Mobile Value Package: unlimited data, unlimited texting, unlimited talk
- $80/month AT&T Prepaid: 3GB data, unlimited texting, unlimited talk
