Linky.

Price not announced yet. The O2 version runs GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, which means it will run on AT&T in the US, as opposed to the US version which will run on T-Mo's AWS.

Also, the O2 version is being released with Android 1.6 (booooo!).

Another nice gotcha about that should be that you could potentially use it on AT&T's cheaper mobile web data plan, rather than the ridiculous smartphone data plan.

To answer the question - no, I will not be buying the O2 version. I will be waiting for the US version to come out.

Are the reviews starting to hit yet? Really curious on battery life, the Streak is looking close to ideal to me atm.

WTF would you release a phone with 1.6 right now??? That's retarded.

did they ever announce a wifi only version?

There is an "unlocked" version for $500 that has Android 2.1. For $500, nobody is going to buy it over an iPad.

The moment someone releases a 7" 2.1+ Android tablet with decent specs for $300 is going to sell them like hot cakes.

EDIT: I'm sure someone is going to say that the Streak is not a tablet.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Streak is going to sell quite well.

It's a new category actually, not a "tablet" and it's pretty big for a phone. (I think it really is a tablet personally).

Anyway, it fits the way people are using their phones today, lots of text messages and some emails, lots of web surfing, and a lot less phone calls that we used to make...

Dunno if it'll be a blowout sales wise, but I think it definitely will make Dell some $.

I can think of three reasons why they would-

1) It's completely portable(pocketable)

2) It's a phone

3) It's cheaper then the iPhone 3GS without contract

If I have to lug around another device, why not take a laptop instead of a seriously compromised piece of hardware in comparison?

A 5in device is pocketable? I think my 3.7in Moto Droid is too large at times to fit my pocket, depending on the pants. Still, much easier to lug around the Streak than an iPad, no question there.

There's several pics/videos on the Engadget review. The reviewer even showed how it was putting this thing in and out of his jeans pockets. It's still huge but it works for him. Doesn't change the fact that the phone looks odd when you hold it up to your face.

Oh and yeah, it's already been rooted.

lol I loved the video when he has it in his pocket and he is like "it works!"

I guess it works if you have giant pockets and dont care to sit down hehe.

I'll get it over an iPad any day. In fact I have no desire to purchase an iPad or a 7" tablet. The Streak is a crossover device which is everything I want (outside of a higher resolution screen, but it'll be "good enough" for its size for me).

The streak is a tablet format MID. It's not a "tablet" in the traditional sense any more than an iPhone is a tablet.

I have a myTouch, and I wear regular jeans most of the time with the myTouch going in my pocket. It irritates me somewhat too, since it slides down to the bottom of my pocket and usually turns so the wide side is laying across the bottom of my pocket. I have little doubt that the streak will fit more comfortably and remain "upright" in my pocket with room to spare.

Small pockets...

My HTC HD2 fit's my pocket very nicely with room to spare and that's 3.74 inches long.

I think what someone has to come up with is a 5 inch device but with much less bezel, so buttons on bottom are smaller, and it's pretty much all screen.
