thats pretty hot... too bad the rest of the 9100s on the refurb section are all $700+

Anyway... its pretty sad that Dell Home isn't going to be doing system coupons anymore. Its almost like when McDonalds took away the $0.29 Hamburgers and $0.39 Cheeseburgers deals way back in the day. We'll all miss those times of getting a ridiculously good deals =(

Anyway I guess this kills (at least for now) any chance of me purchasing a 2405 LCD monitor for under $750. :-(

Those coupons that Dell is re-evaluating are for Dimension desktops and Inspiron laptops only. They said all other electronic/accessory coupons will be dispersed as usual.

So yes you might still be able to get your 24" for $750.

Exactly, the changes are only for the system coupons - in fact new E&A coupons were sent out yesterday.

I think the changes are going to be as a result of the recent confusion with their system coupons where some coupons would be good for all configurations, other coupons would be for certain E-Value codes, and they all had different start/end times, maximum redemption limits, etc... hopefully they are just going to simplify things.

Nope. After what the guy in dell said about selling systems too cheaply, I think they are planning on canceling the coupons all together or something.

the way they would switch pricing around i'm not sure that they ever sold computers too cheaply (the mark it up to mark it down strategy). unless they were confusing themselves.

Who cares. Dell Oulet is the place to buy, and no coupons needed.

I just got these three 10 minutes ago 🙂

Dude you seriously got in on a price mistake. They don't even have the crappy 3000's refurb for the $300 price range you paid for a 9100. Congrats for you (I guess), but the rest of us are SOL.

VERY ATYPICAL.

Nah, those weren't the only ones I got. I probably snagged 5 or 6 that were <300 since Tuesday. I haven't even bothered to look today.

There were some hot deals from Dell EPP and AAFES today as well. The best was a nicely loaded 9100 from EPP (DC 2.8, 1GB, 160GB, 16XDVD+16XDVDRW, Media Center, 256MB X600, 1YR Warranty) plus a 19" 1905FP and a 19" E193FP for $890 shipped plus tax. That puts the cost of the computer by itself around $350.

Those deals are dead now, but don't give up on hot deals on Dells disappearing anytime soon.

I guess you guys don't remember the Dell Chief Financial Officer saying a couple of months ago that they were "too aggressive" in price reductions. Their sales were higher than ever, but their profits didn't meet Wall Street expectations. In other words, he was saying they cut costs too much.

I knew then that the days of super coupons were going to be fewer and farther between.

Well, that was short lived. Now there is a new 35% off select Inspiron codes, plus a 25% off code for the 2405FPW (maybe it stacks???)!

Have you seen those prices they are offering? They are nothing compared to old deals.

Calm before the storm. Getting their ducks in a row before the end of fiscal year blitz next month maybe?

If you sell 10 units for $500.00 each or 5 units for $1,000.00 the end result is the same. $5,000.00

It probably "costs" less to make 5 units vs 10 units. (greater profit margin)

But you still might sell 5x more units at the lower price, therefore making more profit. (bottom line)

I'm no economist, but I'm sure it all comes down to gross profit, right!

The term you are looking for is price elasticity. And I'm sure Dell understands it very well.
