After years of reflexive twisting off the cap of my beloved Boulevard Wheat I now have a nice mauled palm that failed to free my delicious elixir from it's captive vessel.

Ouch.

I cut the hell out of my finger on a Lagunitas that had the audacity to claim to be a twist off, so now I use a bottle opener for everything just in case. Even cans. Or cartons. Or Capri Sun.

I love pop offs. The greatest thing I learned in college is the lighter opening trick.

Isn't pop offs better for the beer? My best trick is how to get a pop off off with a solid surface, such as the bar top in a hotel room.

Beer first came in bottles with caps lined with cork.
Then, a sadist invented the steel can and God retaliated with 'church keys.'
Some time later, aluminum cans came along with 'pop tops.' These were the metal rings with attached wedge shaped can shrapnel capable of eviscerating a buffalo.
Next the attached pop top cans appeared.
Twist off caps and thin walled glass bottles became the container of choice for bad beer everywhere.
Finally, the beer gods returned us to heavy brown bottles with pop tops lined with food grade plastic.

Debate will end when dummies like you realize cans are better. Brown bottles are better than green or (ack!) clear ones though.

agreed, cans are a great way to enjoy beer. We are currently looking into canning beers. Would be quite the shift if we did.
