Dont EVER lose your receipt.

Of course I leave my receipt in my pants pocket. Then the next morning I get motivated to do laundry and proceed to destroy it in the wash.

And what do you know? The ebay buyer says the package never got there. Apparently, according to multiple calls to USPS both local and hq, they have no record of the purchases on the kiosk. So even though i have a transaction number, date and time, and used a credit card they cant tell me the information of the purchase. But if I purchased it at a teller they could get the info for me.

Last time I ever use that kiosk.....or USPS.

Rant over.

What information did you need that was lost? A tracking number? Insurance claim number?

But yeah, don't expect much in the way of customer service from USPS

yea i need the delivery confirmation number.

using the computer? i dont mail enough items to warrant getting a scale. the idea of the kiosk was perfect. weigh and print label while already at the post office during the early morning hours while im at work.

in the end its shame on me, but they really cant get the transaction info? i should put in a cc dispute for the $10 shipping since they didnt ship it.

Your fault. You're suppose to enter the delivery confirmation number into ebay/paypal so they can verify that the package has been delivered.

Even if you go up to the counter at a UPS / USPS you'll still need to keep track of your delivery confirmation number...

Overall the USPS does a great job getting mail around the country, better and cheaper than most posts.

However, it is in desperate need of being run like a business, by business people. Stuff like this makes it seem poorly run and in some cases it is. That's because a lot of the execs at the top aren't business people, they are former line workers, veterans, or politicians.

I know its my fault.....they just need to get into 2012. So some terrorist could use the kiosk and they couldn't tell anyone any info. Seems like a security risk
