I've got a very similar setup being shipped. Should be built by Saturday.

Fx-53 (939)
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum
Corsair TWINX1024-3200XL 1GB Kit DDR400 XMS3200 Dual-Channel Xtra-Low Latency Memory
x800 XT PE (AGP)
200GB SATA HD (no raptors yet)
480watt Thermal Take PSU

And all the other good stuff. Let's race......

It's DDR2 it won't work with FX chips
AMD hasn't jumped on the DDR2 bandwagon yet.

That information isn't even close to being correct. Perhaps you should do some more research, bud, before making such comments.

And, I'll take any DCer on in any sort of race 🙂 Me thinks SB doesn't know the fleet that is Ronin 😉

Yeah I should have corrected myself.
Crucial didn't have the information up the day I checked out the original post. I did find out later that the page was updated and that there was several reviews up of the PC4000.
Interesting to note is that all the reviews are with P4's and 1 with a A64, but no Fx's anywhere.

The problem with Ballistx is FX53's need the lower latency ram.

An FX53 at 200 x 13 for 2600 Mhz at 2,2,2,10
Is much faster than the very same chip at 10 x 260 for 2600 at looser timings of 3,3,3,10.

P4's really benefit from a higher FSB, FX chips however do not.
A64's only advantage to a higher FSB is that is the only way to overclock them because of the higher multi lock.

ps, that's what I've been dealing with at work - we need a new Video editing suite - it'll be a P4 system, though.

Hey (fellow) old man, I've been doing a bit of that at home now. Only using Pinnacle Studio though, so nothing serious. I'm happy with my rendering times on an Athlon 3000+ (400Mhz) with some nice Ballistix RAM in it so far. 😉

Doing video editing for the nuke crowd or did you move on to less (glowing) green pastures? 😉

SB... Seek help man! Before your addiction goes too far! 😉

I'm the complete opposite of ya man... got tired of the noise and now I'm running an Antec 'quiet' case with one BIG, slow-swinging 120mm to do it all.... with lots of Zalman passive cooling inside. 🙂

That's one cool machine you got running...w/ the sort of cooling I have always wanted to do...If you are concerned about noise, just run it in a diff room + drill a hole in the wall for monitor/speakers/keyboard/mouse/anything else you've got hooked up.

/ME wonders how long his AXP 2000+ will hold out before he upgrades...

Hmmm... 6 fans? I have six fans too! 😀

Antec 1080AMG w/5 80mm (5V) Cooler Master Neon Blue LED fans, Vantec Aeroflow HSF @ 3750RPM. Nice and quiet and keeps my system hovering near 50C under F@H 100% CPU load. Can't say the same for my ATI Radeon 9700 Pro vid card's fan... :|

I think I might buy an FX-53 soon...
been kinda wanting to just have the freaking best... sometimes I just get money stupid and buy something ridiculous like that... LOL

1:35 is very temping.. beats me 2:10ish right now with my a64 3200+ 🙂

Ok, you win :Q😀
I love to buy a new ATI vid-card, but my next choice will the a 6800 (GT), just because ATI has no support for 64-bits Linux drivers 🙁

My god!!! :Q
Those are some VERY Impressive scores!!!! I only score 1350 with 3DMark 05 😀

That must be a real pleasure to play any game on. What kind of monitor/display do you use with it?

Why didn't you get an ASUS or ABIT board? Or this is the processor set these two companies are having problems with. (Please Clarify for me) thanks.
