^^ Sigh! I think you are missing the context.

If all you do is fanny about in excel, unzip files all day long and cash is no object then bulldozer is for you If you do more than that or money is important to you better look elsewhere.

But those charts aren't showing it being better in Excel or decompressing files. I don't understand your comment, still.

When compared to X6 1100T.. a 6100 is better.

Um lower is better, it beats the X6... Although the X6 is overall a more versatile CPU.

I have looked at many more reviews of bulldozer than just those charts that were linked, it excels in very few areas, pun not intended.

I should have linked the front page of the article instead of that particular page.

Those results are what interest me because excel is a huge part of my work life. I don't game at all.

If you look closely at the other charts the X6 for sure has better marks than the FX6100 in several, but not all, the memory bandwidth and L2 cache performed better also on the 6100.

Let me say this, I don't really have a clue as to the importance of the various graphs and results and I'm not trying to say the 6100 is better or worse than the X6 - I don't know, I don't have that expertise, that is why I'm only posting to ask questions, not to give opinions.

I just bought a 960T Zosma that is giving me nothing but headaches - I'll be replacing it soon, just not sure with what yet. I should probably go back and look at all of the reviews again, but because of my particular narrow usage, a 6100 or 8200 might be fine for me. Like the lower power of the 6100 though.

my sabertooth will not unlock or even show any extra cores, and any overclocking changes through the bios have caused issues.

I'm using AMD overdrive right now, working up slowly, just at 3200 now because of prior issues Have the multiplier at 16 and the turbo at 18 which is 3600 - so far stable at 1.26 volts.

I haven't used overdrive before, not very familiar with it yet.

EDIT: I'm thinking the issues are with the boards bios, not the chip. The 960T isn't on the supported CPU list yet. Haven't figured out yet how to increase the bus speed - any changes in the bios lead to a crash, can't even set the correct speed for my memory without issues.

This sounds very likely. Computers are a pain in the a$$, aren't they? ;)
