The 5700LE's are pretty terrible. Slower than the prior year's Ti 4200. Tom's Hdw has a monster AGP Video card chart with three generations' worth of cards covered with a half dozen benchmarking tests. The 5700 Ultras were pretty good, but heavily overpriced when new, and currently nonexistent on retailer shelves, as best I've seen. The biggest failing for the FX gpu's was being described as Dx9- ready, when in fact they were not.

For 300 Canadian bucks (about $240 USD), you should be able to get a GeForce 6600GT, which are WAY better then a 9800pro, eh!?!
 
Those are two differant links I gave that give info on the card... however, it is a 128-bit bus (still outpaces my 256-bit GeForceFX5900... architecture is more imporant then some aspects like bus or memory quantity).
 
Don't buy a GeForce FX. Although my gives me okay performance, for less money I could have gotten a Radeon 9800 Pro.
Also, Only a GeForce FX 5700 ULTRA will give you the better performance over a 9600, 9600 Pro and 9600 XT in a lot of cases I've seen, but it's pretty costly. Anthing else will give you about the same performance as the former two.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I belive they are used to generate the DVI signal.

RAMDAC is short for Random Access Memory Digital-to-Analog Converter, a single chip on video adapter cards. The RAMDAC's role is to convert digitally encoded images into analog signals that can be displayed by a monitor. A RAMDAC actually consists of four different components - SRAM to store the color map and three digital-to-analog converters (DACs), one for each of the monitor's red, green, and blue electron guns.

Bottom line, this converts everything into a signal your monitor can display... "Dual RAMDAC" usually refers to a video card being able to support dual monitors with seperate signals.
