FX-55 Overclocking

I have already posted this on Hard Forums (with iSkylla). I have an FX-55 Clawhammer and I want to overclock. I need to know the right kind of RAM to get to achieve the greatest overclock. I dont want to spend too much more then $200.00. Some guy suggested TwinMOS SP, any suggestions for this?

System:
FX-55 Clawhammer
DFI LanParty Ultra-D
2x Maxtor 16MB Cache HD's
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
ATI X800XL
Lian Li PC60 Plus (2x 120mm, 2x 80mm)

The two best IC's to get for ram are TCCD and UTT. UTT requires LOTS of volts to run fast and at tight timings, but TCCD doesnt' like the volts as much. Either one is great for overclocking, but if your going to use a not-too-high FSB (because the fx-55 has a high multiplier), the UTT will probably be better, assuming your OK with giving it lots of juice. 😀

What about just upping the multiplier? Since the FX series is unlocked...

THen you can use the Crucial Value or Corsair ValueSelect rather than some expensive stuff...

dear god, don't recommend corsair value to this man! the dfi boards do not like corsair memory, period. some people have gotten corsair to work with the dfi nf4 boards but the majority have big problems. the mods at http://www.dfi-street.com recommend OCZ b/c there's an OCZ rep there who will help you out with any questions you have.
i assume you want 1GB and not 2GB.
CheesePoofs was right. get UTT or BH-5 or TCCD/5 memory like this (~2.9V max), this, this (high volts) or this (high volts).
people are having great success OCing with all this stuff.
edit: the twinmos used to be good stuff and quite a bargain. but i'm not sure newer modules still use UTT chips anymore.

for 2GB, i can verify people have had success with the following with your mobo;
this or this (probably won't get better timings than 3/3/3/X, but a great bargain b/c they use the same micron 5B-D chips as the uber-expensive crucial ballistix).

$200.00 ram for a $1K proc? 😕

basically with the ultra D, you have lots of vdimm availble. You should use it. Get some Bh-5/UTT based RAM, crank up the volts and you'll be fine.

You have a bloody FX-55, lol. Get Redline or VX, go nuts, then realize that you have an unlocked multiplier so it scarcely matters..

Performance ram is a waste imho. Money better spent on video or a nice display, but that's just me.

I have a nice display Hyundai L90D+. Vid kind of sucks though. X800XL. I might just stay with the RAM that I have right now, PQI 2GB DDR400. I think if I use a divider of 166Mhz I might be able to get more Mhz. I am kind of waiting the R520 but it will be so expensive....

i just don't understand why people would recommend cheapo value ram when this guy has a 800+ cpu!!!

i'd get the redline 4000 or ocz vx gold since you have all those multipliers available...

in general lower latency lower htt will give you better performance than higher latency higher htt (this is from my personal experience with corsair tccd and ocz vx)

yes, it is true that in real world performance the difference between 200 fps and 180 fps will be unnoticeable... but i just find it wrong to run value ram with such a nice cpu... or is it just me?
