OOPS your right I didn't even notice it was the 940, I bought me one of the 939's. Guess that's one of the reasons I thought it was so cheap including the fact that it's OEM.

Man, I wish I had seen this thread earlier. Yesterday I placed an order for the same stick of RAM on the ZZF frontpage for 73.50 and 2-day shipping at Outpost for 82.62 including S&H + Tax

from my understanding a 3200+ winchester can outperform a stock FX-53.
the price difference seems monumental.

Yep. I bought an OEM from Monarch Computer for $179 (its up a few bucks now) but it does 2550 @ 1.41V....just a tad over stock. I have not gone further but some guys are getting 2.7 to 3ghz with these Winchester 3200+ chips.

Why yes it can if it's overclocked, but then again you can overclock the FX-53 as well.....hmmmm
