hrrm. Do you think it's worth upgrading the extra ~$300 for PCI-E mobo with AM2, Conroe, Vista (DX10) in the semi-near future?

well
The mobo will help this current rig not getbottlenecked. it's basically allowing you to toss in whatever you want.
If you toss in a 7900GT you're good for quite a while my friend you may not even need conroe and youcan put it off till next summer till stuff getscheaper, that's just my opinion,

CPU's were NEVER the heart of the gaming. If you're set on making this rig somewhat futureproof, chuck in a few more bucks for a PhysX PPU that way you got a 7900GT+PPU and you can WTFPWN ghost recon.

Gah, now i'm confused. Hehe. So basically 400~ upgrade for 7800 GS and 1 gig of ram, or ~ 750 dollar upgrade for PCI-E mobo, 7900 GT and 1 gig of ram. Meh i guess i'll just have to think about it.

Edit: Alright, I think i've decided to go with the ~400 upgrade and save the extra 350 for my full upgrade in the next 6-9 months after Conroe and AM2 have come out. I'd rather have a motherboard with long term flexibility/upgradability than just switching from 940 to 939, especially since i have the money.

Thanks everyone.

Conroe is going to be alot of money man, about 600 plus a new mobo, Just make sure you know it's going to be more expensive.

Meh, I'd probably just wait until Conroe comes out, gives some good price competition for AM2, maybe motivate AMD to up their game a little and come out with a sweet processor, then just build an AM2 rig. Thanks for the heads up though.
