FWDRV error

When I boot up my pc right after the splash screen.....I get a blue screen that says:

Invalid VxD dynamic link call from FWDRV(01) + 0000E684 to device "0028" service 8016 Your Windows configuration is invalid. Run the Windows Setup program again to correct this problem

I tried re-installing windows to no effect.I can boot into Safe mode and searched for FWDRV and it came up with Fwdrv.vxd in my windows\system folder. Does anywone know how to fix this? Is this Fwdrv.vxd file the cause of my problem? I really don't want to reformat if possible.

Are you using some kind of controller card? And what O/S are you using? Let me know so I can try to help you.

I am not using any type of controller card and I am running Win 98(not SE). Let me know if you need any more info.

Did you install something before this problem occured? I am sorry but I don't really know what causes that but if you did install something before this, try to uninstall it and see what happen after that.
