...idiot stick

my local video place stopped getting widescreen movies in favor of crapnscan because too many dumbsh|ts complained about "THE TOP AND BOTTOM ARE GETTING CUT OFF - OH NOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" :|

I walked in, picked up minority report, paid, and on my way out i noticed "1.33 : 1 FULL FRAME" !!!!!!!!!!!!! :| :| :| :| :|
I couldn't believe it! I did an abrubt about face, and was like

"omg this isn't widescreen!"
little kid behind the counter: "too many people complained about - "
me cutting him off, screeching like a banshee: "THE SIDES ARE CUT OFF IN FULL SCREEN!!!!"
little dude's dad i think: "ok just get something else"
me: "BAH!"

so here I am, minority report-less, holding donnie darko.

Full screens of emoticons are bandwidth wasters
and are not allowed, don't do it again.

What the hell is going on with this thread?! The formatting is all screwed on my PC. 😕

This is definitely not the proper Aspect Ratio for AT threads!

BTW, P&S blows and your sig is missing from the first post.

Oh, suck it up. I've been saying the same thing about the proliferation of these one lung, go-karts for years, and that's a little more important than a DVD rental!

so what ..

widescreens are annoying unless you have a 16:9 i think ..

I have a regular TV .. and full screen works fine for me~

I dont mind~

it is annoying when you have a 32 inch Sony Trinitron and 1/4 from the top and bottom are missing cuz of the widescreen~

Everyone in the world is an asshole, but you can't read the label on a DVD before you rent it?
i called earlier and had them save me a copy, i went to the front, said "hey i called earlier about minority report" they handed me the dvd, i handed over the buck seventyfive
3 steps later i turned around.

nah, i've met a few that aren't. in fact, a couple of people on this forum aren't.

Not every one has the luxury of affording or being able to fit a large tv. Tell me how you feel after watching a widescreen on a 15inch tv.

[/quote]You do realize it wastes no bandwidth whatsoever, it's just the one downloaded image being shown countless times...

They make fullscreen DVDs!!! What a waste of money...

Yeah... I was stupid and picked up a fullscreen copy of LOTR without even looking at it. I still need to buy the widescreen and burn this one for being fullscreen.

all my movies get watched on a 19" monitor.
and if you cant afford buying a ~200 dollar peice of equipment, what are you buying dvds for anyways, or renting?
