So I decided to step outside without turning on the porch lights. Opened the door and walked right into what must have been a freshly spun spider web. My head was covered with web and my hand had squashed arthropod parts on it (either the spider or its meal). It was a bitch removing the stuff from my hair. I still feel icky all over :|

That is all. Time for bed. Sweet dreams.

That happened to me about an hour ago, except it was in my kitchen. While I was at work today, a large spider decided to make a web in my kitchen near the fridge door. I found him on the wall when I got home and bam! I found the web when I went to the fridge. Spider silk in my mouth and on my face is icky to say the least. Damn spiders.

My area is loaded with them both in the house and outside.

I am thinking of surrendering to them

It's a sad state of affairs when you naturally put your arms up before walking in and out of your own front door area. It's gotten to be a habit for me now since I've walked into many small/partial webs. Never have I walked into a completely spun one... the thought irks me.

Anyone know if it's safe to RAID spray the general bushes in front of a house? They always string from there to the doorway area.

Every morning, there are at least 2 spider webs betwen my back door and the car. THis morning, the web was from a tree onto the car antenna. When we drove away, it streched the web out and snapped the spider onto the antenna. While driving to work, on the freeway, it was building a new web!!! It had a couple of the main support strings down and was starting to connect them. Somehow, I don't think he is going to be able to finish the web though ... he seems to have been pulverized by pen thump. Heh.

I don't mind the spider webs as much as the fact you don't know if the spider was on that particular part of the web and is now crawling in your hair or on you!

It'll be safe for the bushes, but probably won't do much to control the spiders. Most shelf bought insecticides must be sprayed directly on a spider to kill it.

I spray Cutter insect and mosquito spray every 4 weeks or so. Then I use my pressurewasher to blast all the spiders, webs and spider cocoons to oblivion (on my porch, that is).
