I called poison control and the lady told me to put it in a plastic bag and to put it in the freezer. Then if I get sick in two days, take it to the local agricultural department for testing.

Like the pit was eaten out by bugs? I know that sometimes the pit seperates from the walls of the fruit, but it doesn't fit through the stem hole thats five times smaller.

It only had small fragments stuck to the wall and there was a crystaline formation in the middle like the ones in caves.

I had an ingrown hair on the back of my neck and I was never able to see it and I was positive it was cancer. Wow...I just realized I'll never be able to see the back of my neck and head without mirrors...that sucks.

Wow, how interesting. I was reading about this type of plum in Popular Science just last week.
Apparently, you've got a Honduran Crystal Pit Plum...grows only in well...Honduras.The crystals are actually the feces residue from the Aseego Plum Beetle, a small burrowing insect, that as a Pupa, burrows inside the fruit and gestates until it's adult stage. Aside from their acidic taste, the crystals are basically harmless.
Damn, that sounded good. I almost believe me!![]()
