too much data to make up. see?

Volume/mL Mass/g NaHCO3 Reacted
Run Vinegar Water Solution before Reaction Solution After Reaction Mass of ½ Alka-Seltzer Tablet Mass of CO2 Lost in Reaction Mass (g) Mass % (g)
1 0 35 33.6376 34.8262 1.6103 0.4217 0.4217 26.188
2 5 30 33.2377 34.0615 1.2576 0.4338 0.4338 34.494
3 10 25 33.7794 34.9635 1.6085 0.4244 0.4244 26.385
4 15 20 33.9459 35.2980 1.9478 0.5957 0.5957 30.583
5 20 15 32.7296 33.9325 1.6922 0.4893 0.4893 28.915
6 25 10 33.3993 34.5277 1.5457 0.4173 0.4173 26.997
7 30 5 35.2057 36.1440 1.2669 0.3286 0.3286 25.937
8 30 0 34.7050 36.1248 1.9504 0.5306 0.5306 27.205

The numbers on the right should be all close to 60%.

1. does your TA care if you got the numbers close to correct?
- if so make up the numbers.

2. if the TA doesnt give a sh!t as long as you have a lab report to turn in
- make up the numbers, and for explanations write a story about herpes or another STD
- you will probably get full credit for filling up the space, they're half asleep when they grade that stuff anyway.
( we used to do crap like that in physics ( mechanics lab ) )

My TA is an asshat. He goes through and reads every lab word for word. He took off points on my last lab for using 1st person. Anyway I would make up the data if I knew what I was supposed to be comming up with but I don't.

Pretty much what I do. Google = college. Here's the deal, in real life, no one deprives you of resources and makes you do things all by yourself without help or other resources.

Pretend this is a problem your boss at work gave you. Now pretend that we ATOT people are your co-workers in your department. Now ask us for help like you would in the real world.

You're in Chem 1, right?

Our results were way off in Chem 1/2. We asked our teacher and he said that the lesson to take from that is that science doesn't always work the way we expect it to.

Then again he's an awesome teacher.

just put your data down as is and try to explain why it did not work. That will not only help you learn but you will vcome off as intelligent to your prof.

and the previous post was right, not everything in science goes as planned, as anyone who has done PCR will tell you

I messed up a lab once in chem. I was honest and pointed out what caused my data to go wrong. I got a 0 on that lab report.

From that moment on, I just made up data close to the expected results.
