WTF!? do you have any common sense???? who cares what her personality is?!?! get her information, period.

Ya...you pretty much screwed yourself on this one.

Good luck on this one...I'm too scared (that, and we know how stupid people really are) to try driving past someone while they're backing up. Just getting her license # wasn't enough...I hope there really wasn't any damage.

Why would you want her insurance information if (by your own admission) there is NO damage to your car? Is it to make a false claim?

Its raining..maybe he couldn't see all the damage. One of my friend's mom did this..she got rear ended, got out, thought there wasn't any damage. Turned out the bumper got slightly pinched up which resulted in her not being able to open the back of her saburban.

Why would you honk then just keep on going if she wasn't going to stop?

did you read? she wasn't looking when she backed out. she hit my rear passenger panel. it was too late when I honked.

He makes a good point and I'm sure he can read. Aparently you can't drive. If she hit the rear of your car that means you were already passing behind her and would only have needed to speed up rather than stopping to honk and getting hit. Asshat.

wow.....someone hits you and you don't get their info. you lose man hopefully you learn something out of this

I didn't ask her for the insurance info(I can tell, she is a b1tch, not good for me to argue with her), I wrote down her license plate instead. what should I do now? do I file a police report? I don't think she will has my license plate. it was raining and she was sitting in her car.

well, you SHOULD have gotten her insurance information:roll:

Since it was on private property, the cops can't do jack to either of you. Nothing will come of this. Be glad there was no damage, since there's no way you'll be filing a claim on her insurance. At least she didn't get your info either...

WTF? You should have gotten her insurance information AND filed a police report on the spot. In my view, even if you were going fast (which you weren't) she would have to wait for you to pass first before she backs up. When it comes to accidents, you NEVER take anything to chance. Because she could turn against you and report that you were the one who hit her.

It happen on an university campus parking lot? If so that is hardly private property as some people mentioned.

As others mentioned always always always get insurance information. In my experience with a pretty minor accident it turned into a mess and the lesson I learned is to always call the police so you have a filled report.

Perhaps this is a lesson in live and learn.

I don't go over 3000rpm when my car is still in the warming up mode. there was a small distance before i have to stop down and turn. basically, there wasn't enough room to speed fast enough to avoid she hitting me and for me to stop.

Some 80+ year old guy backed into my parked car a few months ago. I was sitting in the driver's seat reading a newspaper waiting for someone. I saw him trying to parallel park. No damage, but when I asked for his name, and insurance, he yelled at me for giving him a hard time and being a young adolescent with nothing else to do but cause trouble. (Im 22 btw).

I asked him real calmly and nicely too!. He continuously refused to give me any info. So, i took down the license plate and reported it to the police. I dont know if anything happened. This was on a street - so public property.

I'd yell at you, too. What do you think bumpers are for? It happens.

Who said he stopped to honk?

what a bad day to begin with. I went to the school parking lot to get my car. as I was leaving the parking lot driving less than 10mph, this b1tch on my passenger side was backing up without looking. I saw she was coming and I honked!

the b1tch still hit my car. my rear passenger side panel got hit. :|:|:|
there seems to be no damge, I can see my rim also got hit.

she tried to blame it on me saying that I was going too fast in the parking lot? 😕++

Man that sucks. Samething happened to me at a Home Depot parking lot, except I got hit on the rear quarter panel. Insurance company (21st Century) said they couldn't do anything since they couldn't prove who was at fault. Hope you have better luck than me.

Edit: The person that hit me blamed me for going too fast in the lot too. Asked why I was trying to enter my space so fast. I was actually reversing out of the spot and I even honked her too. Too bad I had no proof. Big fat b!tch driving a huge van....dammit

No one, and it is obviously the lady's fault, but from the way the OP was written it seems like he saw her backing out and probably could have stopped but he honked. Why? Probably b/c he expected her to do what anyone that knows how to backup would do and that is paying attention...stop backing up and pull back into the space. She wasn't paying attention though, thus the accident. OP, please correct me if im wrong.

Actually there are quite a few private universities in the United States.

There are quite a bit more public universities, what's your point?
