They didn't seem that evil or dishonest... you made the error yourself in sending in that second payment without checking whether the first one went through. Cingluar didn't just take you 98 bucks and pretend it never got sent, they agreed to give u credit for it. You should probably manage your money better so that 98 bucks wont put you in overdraft terrority. IF thats the case, you probably shouldn't have a 98 dollar phone plan either.

Right. They have a system that can handle the task, but it's against company policy to perform for whatever overzealous security reasons. The woman who did it for you broke the rules for you. Probably risking her job to do it, too. Hope it was worth it.

Unless you work for Cingular, you don't know that Nik. I doubt the CSR was risking her job to do this.

Companies don't just give money away. Especially not cell phone companies. I worked for T-Mobile and I don't know how many people I got asking for bill adjustments. It was against company policy and unless the customer met very specific criteria, they didn't get jack crap. And, when they did, it was a $5 limit that the CSR had authority over. The manager had a $50 limit and their manager had a higher limit, etc. Even for $5, CSR's at T-Mobile had to get manager's approval. For anything over that, the manager would have to take over the call at their desk, etc.

There's a reason the first tech told the OP no. There's a reason the first tech's MANAGER also told her no. The second tech wasn't following the rules -which actually happens a lot more than I thought it did prior to working for TM.

I just send in my payment via the mail. I also had a problem with being charged with incoming text messages on my son's phone. I called Cingular and they put a block on all texting for both phones and it cost me nothing for that service (Sprint POTS would have charged me $3.50 for that feature). I always get treated like a king by Cingular every time I call them. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Me too, farmercal. I :heart: Cingular. I just wish they would lower their data packages.

Cingular service is great when I go to NC.

 
That sucks but t-mobile's site is slow and has been for at least a year and also they screwed up billing once and charged me $137 out of the blue.

Cingular service is great when I go to NC.

Cingular bought AT&T Wireless. Cingular's coverage should be virtually uncontested.

Thge holy grail of any suvice company is to gain a month subscription from its customers. Its almost something to taken for granted. When this happens, as a company you have no big incentive to insure that cancelation charges are handed proprerly. Saying Opps and pocketing more money is just theft by feigned ignorance.

They were going to credit them back on the next month's bill. They acknowledged that she overpaid and it's very very typical to just get a credit on the next month's bill for paying more than what you owe with more than just cell phone companies.

I use my checking account to pay bills. Nothing more. I'll make purchases with cash and credit and I'll keep cash in my ING savings. To transfer money into my checking from ING, it takes a good few days, even a week sometimes for the money to become available. This is besides the point, so what that I didnt double check the payment history to see how many went through. The 2nd payment should still be able to be reversed/voided.

Anyone know what this Roadside Assistance charge is? I didn't sign up for it, it was on my first few bills, then it appeared out of nowhere, $2.50 a month...

It's something I know you dont need, you drive an Acura!!🙂 Call 611 an get it removed.
