I just bought a new laptop.
It has a good videocard but the screen is fuzzy. Well, the pictures and letters aren't crisp.
The resolustion is set to 1680 x 1050 which is the max.

Videocard is 128mb Radeon 9600 Pro turbo with 15.4" WSXGA+ monitor

I tried standard mode and clear type mode. Clear type is better but not good.

I've actually had this issue on my pc a while back. What kinda of MOBO you have? Can it support 8x AGP?

Go to your Display Settings window and go to the Settings tab, click the Advanced button. The first tab that comes up should be labeled "General". Check to see that 96dpi is set and not the others. I know this will distort some fonts and other things within Windows.

Good luck!

That's a pretty odd resolution 1680 x 1050, is it a wide screen?

Anyhow It might not be this but all TFT / LCD screens have a "native resolution" which they are designed to run in, This may not be the same as the maximum resolution. They can often be run in many other resolutions but as a rule image quality / integrity will degrade.

Yay.
That helped a lot.
It was set to 120dpi and just changed to 96dpi.
It looks so much cleaner now, even the pictures.

Thank you.
