Wow.. 35% of Anandtech makes more than 75k a year (Probably more than that).. How can that be given how TERRIBLE the economy is? I guess 50,000 a year is considered poverty in this country now.

You are making ASSumptions. I would agree our policies may cause some of the terrorist attacks, however I still believe that our policies are CORRECT and the RIGHT thing to do. So don't assume based on a internet poll what people truly believe.

Er, the economy doing bad doesn't mean EVERYONE is doing bad. I myself am fully capable of going off to start a great new job making quite a bit of money while realizing that not everyone is in the same position I am.

Ahh yes, the old.. "I'm doing OK, but my neighbor isn't" argument. My guess is your neighbor is pretty satisfied with their standard of living as well.. I think all people have a great opportunity to succeed in America if they put in the effort. Sitting and complaining on an internet forum is not making an effort.

I was just pointing out that certain individuals (like those posting on AT) can be doing ok while the economy in general is not. There are a lot of indicators that the economy is not doing so well in general (to be fair, they also indicate that think are improving), and that doesn't become less true simply because I have a good job. Obviously we disagree on how well the economy is doing, I'm just saying my personal job situation (or that of AT) doesn't have to reflect the economy as a whole.

Which one comes closer to why you believe the US is under attack by organizations like, and including, Al Qaida?

Terrorists uses the great differences between the rich and the poor to recruit new members. They then mix it with fanatism, which is the best way to make minions do the dirty work without getting them to think.

Differences that are very useful in propaganda:
West vs Africa
Israel vs Palestine
Arabian Ultra rich vs poor population

others as well, and as US is mixed into all these affairs it's something all can relate to and they can then join up to fight the great satan.

You won't likely hear from many of the people who aren't doing so well on an internet forum for reasons like, 1) they don't have cushy desk jobs with internet connections, 2) they can't afford an internet connection at home since it can be considered a non-essential "nice to have if you can afford it" thing, 3) they never heard of nor care about internet discussion forums because they are too busy trying to find work or hold down jobs to put food on the table and don't have time to waste on spouting opinions to a forum that doesn't really matter for squat. There will be some, but the majority of them are probably out trying to keep their lives together, not posting in here.

I think there will be forms of terrorism for the rest of thelife of the country. It may not always be foreigners, but our own jackass people doing jackass things. As in all the stuff that happens in Israel and crap. Since I have was born 1984, there have been multiple terrorist attacks that were by Americans; I think it is a given that it wil happen again and has nothing to do with our foreign affairs or any of the other in the list....so I put the 2 or more one.
