What other cards does the X1900 line include aside from the XT and XTX, and are there going to be multiple G71 based cards? I'm wondering if there is anything coming out soon that may cause the current 7800GTs to drop a lot in price.

Basically, I am going to be selling one of my 7800GTs on ebay at some point, but I'm trying to decide whether I should sell it now or wait a month and then sell it when the G71 comes out, at which point I'll be upgrading to that or an X1900 card. I paid $300 for each card and would like to recover at least $250 if possible; these CO versions are significantly beefed up over reference 7800GTs and may fetch a bit more than those. I will be keeping the other card, as I want to use that in another computer later.

If I sell the card now, I would be using the other one by itself for a month until the G71 comes out. I'm only using SLI in about half of my games so I could certainly get by with one card for a little while, but if the prices aren't going to drop a lot soon then I would rather keep the second card for the games that can use it.

By the way, my AGP 6800GT sold on ebay yesterday for a surprisingly high $320. I don't know why anyone would pay that much for it, but whatever, I'm not complaining. :D

Simply because it cannot be found IMO.

It can't?

I see them go on forums all the time for $190-$220. You got a very good deal on your end.

The longer you wait, the more you risk. 7800s dip down into $275 all the time now, and there's always the possibility they'll drop to $250 new in a month.

Try selling one of your cards now for $300-320 or so. Yeah I know it's more than new, but you never know -- used hardware sells for > new more often than not.

People clueful enough to know about CO versions also probably expect the card to have been overclocked to hell and back, and may not be so willing to pay > new.

But, you never know. Heck, try for $350!

edit: Another reason to sell now is everyone and their dog will be trying to sell 7800GTs to get X1900XT or G71 setups. You probably want to beat that rush.

bump, was busy for a few days.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards doing that now. The X1900 cards have come out cheaper than many expected and may drive the prices for everything else down a bit, and I can't get SLI to work in SCCT, one of my favorite games (most likely something I am doing wrong, but I'm getting tired of the hassle at this point). I will probably put the card on ebay in a few days. One of these cards sold for $315 there yesterday and I'm pretty good at advertising my stuff, so it looks I can still make up most of my money.

Any other opinions?
