I wonder if they thought about it yet, but it should have a built in camera. 1.3megapixels at least...

camera ipods probably won't exist for a while; right now big stevie is focusing on video and movies. He wants to snatch the entire entertainment biz before moving on to consumer biz.

apparently, apple is still "on track" for releasing the true video ipod...

besides, an update of the ipod line should be here soon. i remember last summer around june that the 20GB and higher models (all standard ipods) got full color displays...

Exactly.

Why doesn't apple concentrate on this? People could purchase songs off their ipod directly and there are so many other possibilities, is it that hard to add a wifi card and simple software?

I really wish they would just work on improving the battery life. The functionality is fine as far as I am concerned, but the batery dies much too quickly. Alternatively they could just switch it over to a non-proprietary battery I guess, but that will never happen.

I gave up on ipods. I still use one at work thats hooked up to a receiver but I went Archos. I recenly got the Archos DVR AV500 (100gb model) and this baby is sweet. Records video like a TIVO system, obviously does MP3 wav and WMA and has a 4" WS for video and is not susceptible to scratches like the ipods. Has 2 usb connections on it for various devices one being a camera attachment to use a a digital camcorder or for taking pics. And it has bass and treble controls with the ipods never had. The battery last 15hrs for tunes and 5 for video. I hated the preset EQ on the ipods. While i still love the pod it just needs so much more.

Nice, but the 30gb version is $600 Cdn here, so I can only imagine the 100gb would be exorbitant.

Since the AV700 came out recently the price on the AV500 (100gb model) has dropped. It cost me $500 US. Got it at J&R a couple of weeks ago and they only had 3 left at the time!

Ugh, another reason I switched from an iPod. Don't want to be a Pod Person anymore. Especially when you spend hundred of dollars and still use the crappy earphones! I ride the subway everyday and all you see are white cords. Get some decent phones! :)

A user replaceable battery would be a good move. Recharge - yeah - but be able to change on the move to a fully charge one when travelling - like my Creative Zen Vision has.

Bluetooth 2.0, 3.2MP camera with a flash, autofocus, and image stabilization, at least 4GB of built in storage, and the abilty to make phone calls on it...well, I guess that would be for the question, "What do you want in your next phone?"

A decent battery solution. As much as I like (and use) Apple's computers, I won't touch the iPod until it comes with a replaceable battery.
