Consoles will still be consoles and consoles will still suck... I'll stick to the PC.

I've had more replies than I expected. I'll get busy answering and debating tonight.

PCs are not going anywhere, they are tied to business and are completing their invasion of the home. And as long as PCs exist, there will be PC games.

Now, with that out of the way you can only argue that PC games will become irrelevant like cellphone games or something. That isn't really death.

This is covered over and over again...consoles get more expensive with each generation...and PCs get less expensive with each generation. Consoles get more features with each generation, but the PC as a platform has been constantly evolving since its creation.

The mostly likely death occuring regarding these platforms wouldn't be a death at all, more like a merge. A stripped down PC existing as a console alongside PCs.

I just don't see either one of them going anywhere anytime soon. They cater to different markets.

i love LAN games that my whole family can play together. our youngest can almost read well enough to join in, hopefully by fall (when the new age of empires comes out) she can hang with us on some LAN fun

W3rd. That sums it up. Consoles = PCs

If the next gen of consoles come with keyboard/mouse support and a VGA/DVI port, then I'll go with them. Otherwise I would much rather play games on my PC.

PC gaming will not die in the foreseeable future!

Fixed.

edit: whiny bitch dug! :p You didn't notice forseeable! Unqualified proofreader!

Also, I have to note my PC emulates older consoles just fine, which is a lot of fun.

PC gaming has been in decline for years (in terms of market share). I think PC gaming reached its peak in 1995, and since then the public has been losing interest.

After reading your replies, I have come to my senses and I realize now that PC gaming is going to be around forever and that consoles, japanese games and gamepads suck.

No, I haven't :p

Seriously though, it's obvious that this forum is going to be heavily biased in favor of pc gaming and it would take too much of my time to rebutt most of you again and again. I just want to add that when I say pc gaming is going to start "dying" i mean it's going to incur serious and noticeable decline. Nothing more. FPS, RTS and keyboard/mice are not enough to stop that for reasons i've mentionned in the OP.

Anyways, who gives a sh*t if pc gaming dies or not? as long as you can plug your consoles to your monitor's DVI port, play at high resolutions and be able to plug a mouse+keyboard to your console for the occasional FPS or RTS, I think we'll all be alright.
