I think he meant DVD's from the new series. The argument here is (I think) that only serious fans would consider buying DVD's at all, and since the new series is going to be so different from the old, they wont be buying them at all.Originally posted by: gorcorps
Why would DVD sales be affected by the new voices? The DVDs out are the good years... with the proper actors.Originally posted by: 0roo0roo
dvd sales are going to die thats for sure.
My hope is that the new series will attract all kinds of new fans and the show will continue from there.
Realistically, this will die a horrible, bloody death. The old fans will hate. New people wont find enough changes to make them watch it. Only hardcore animation/scifi freaks will watch this show regularily and that might not be enough to keep it on the air.

Err, it's just voices, guys. We got used to a different actor in Bewitched. Characters are not limited to being played/voiced by just one actor. The Popeye characters were voiced by several different actors and actresses over the years. James Bond got played by several actors but he's still James Bond. And the look of The Simpsons characters has changed over time.

For those of you saying they asked for too much, now that they have no job security with the new offer, why wouldn't they ask for more pay per episode? They're switching to a new network, new fan base, new storylines, all after a multi-year hiatus. That increases their personal risk significantly, given the other opportunities they may pass on to re-join Futurama. I think it's a completely rational choice on their part.

voice acting takes so little effort compared to the payoff.
