For those that are interested, I thought I would post a feature list for FuseTalk 4 if you want to know whats coming.

Feature PDF

A highlight is:

[*] Keyboard shortcuts to posting a message logging etc.
[*] Brand spanking new private messages interface with the ability to organize pms like email in folders
[*] Read receipts for PMS
[*] Brand new front page much cleaner and easier to read
[*] ability to block other users sigs

And much more...

Please note, that we won't be doing more features for FuseTalk 4, just changes or fixes to whats there. So if you want to see other things put them here

Thanks Z00ni,

Edit -

birefly read through the changes, and things I like:

private topics, blocking peoples sigs, new PM interface, and subcategories. SOUNDS GREAT!

Any idea if the Private Topics feature will be enabled here at AT? I'm anxious to see FT4. :)

BTW, perhaps it should be PMs rather than PMS in your intial post. :p

aves2k, there will be private topics in FT4. That is first thing you will see if you look at the PDF Zuni posted. Peace.

I realize that it's listed but just because FT has the option for something doesn't mean it will be enabled on AT.

Inline images, number of views of a thread for example. They are in FT3 but we don't have them.

I'm already in love with FT4! :)

Improved ?Problem User? Management seems really nice ... just don't publicize it. ;)

Some months ago I wrote a CF script that parsed my recently posted messages and displayed on my desktop when there were replies. Adding XML and RSS capabilities would add a number of possibilities, such as recent, favorite and replied-to thread notifications.

I just hope that something that doesn't work very well in FT3 gets fixed: the new-replies-since-last-visit indicator. In PHPBB this works very well ... when I click on a thread, the indicator is reset and the icon changes color. When someone replies, it changes color again. The yellow and blue folders in FT3 don't work too well ... sometimes it only works when i click on logout (something that I rarely do).

But still, I'm eagerly waiting for FuseTalk 4. :D

Zuni, are we going to have a chance to see FT4 before it goes up here? I'd like to have a chance to tinker with it a bit before hand to get a feel for it, if possible.

What sort of DB server do I need to run the beta?

BTW the timeouts for banning users is a really good idea, I've often thought that something like that would be very handy.

Will you be posting a link to it here once it is up?

You will have to have some database and coldfusion knowledge to install and manipulate the beta. If you don't just use our online beta we'll have up and play with that.
Cool, I've just registered.
I've got a machine running Oracle 9i with CFMX so that should do it.

Favorites Engine
This feature allows your users to bookmark topics and add them to their favorites list
for viewing at a later time. The favorites listing are located within the today/my
forums page.

Finally! So maybe they'll also now be sorted, unlike the subscribed threads list on the Today page?

Auto-Parsing URLs
No more "Linkified." replies. :)

BTW, does FT3.1 have the ability to put the forums list on the main page in a custom order (by admin)?

Hi it's in the help, give it a read. Categories page has the ordering right on it in the admin.
