Anybody know anyone unfortunate enough to be a part of this, or even better have you ever partook yourself? I'm wondering what the heck happens at these conventions and what would drive someone to be fascinated in this in the first place.

I think the term bronies is sort of a sarcastic joke (which was funny i suppose at first but like everything else has been beaten to the ground and now no longer even illicits a smile) for the stereotypical male who like my little ponies (I've watched it with my daughter, its a cartoon, I'm indifferent) but its not actually taken all that seriously. People into furriers however seem to be another story all together. It's not a sarcastic joke poking fun at the ultra male stereotype, but some sick twisted fetish that people wrap themselves in.
 
First time I heard of furries was in an episode of '1000 Ways to Die' where the dude got drunk and higher than kite, wandered into a sex furry meetup in the wilderness, got horny, then got thrown out by the furries and died after getting mauled by a bear he tried to bone.
 
Didn't there used to be someone who posted on here that was a furry. Or at least he drew furry artwork.

Furries, ehh, I'm not really sure what to make of them. I suppose they're no different than cosplayers. Though admittedly I prefer nerd girls dressed up as Bayonetta than someone in a stinky mascot suit. I understand for the most part it's non-sexual. For that alleged one third that it is, that's where things get too weird.
 
You would think loli furry doujinshi readers and artists would have a rank, and be ranked lower.
