Funny Watchmen Related Video BUT EXTREME SPOILER

It is one of those classic Hitler Flips out about something clips but I found it extremely funny.

When I first heard the news I had a somewhat similar reaction. I have more or less come to terms with it... but this video was just too good and fell so close to home.

I am sure there were many fanboys that feel Hitler's frustration.

EDIT: If you have been following the movie as much as I have you probably already heard that the squid is out and has been replaced by someone more familiar. As someone who was hoping for an as true to the book movie as possible, it is a little bit of a punch in the face. I am still 100% going to see it and probably going to cream my pants as most people will, but deep down, I will miss that freaking squid.

Wow, I actually agree with Hitler (or the writer as it may be) on this one. :shock; That change in the ending of Watchmen doesn't make any sense. At All.

Personally, I think the writer is taking a shot at the extreme fan boys who are flipping out. With that said, I do agree with some parts.

I also saw an interview with Synder on Firstshowing.net and he was kind of a dick about. His opinion is that fanboys shouldn't be upset and we all knew there was going to be sacrifices. He was a little dickhead about it. I do have to give him credit though, he mentioned the hitler video and allowed me to find it.

I thought the whole point to the squid was to bring mankind together, how the hell is that going to work with Dr M being framed?

well, at a kevin smith interview, a lot of the stuff done for the movie was done to just make sense. When doing the original costumes/ending, Smith said it wouldn't have worked for the movie, so it was decided to change it a bit.

He was rather satisfied on the change. If Kevin Smith says so, then I agree with him 😛 hehe.

That's what I don't necessarily get either. Sure, mankind can be united against Dr M but that doesn't make as much sense as another outside force...doesn't necessarily have to be a giant alien squid.

According to Synder (you can see the interview here- Text) The squid would have been too much development and require the sacrifice of some char development and other parts of the story in order to put it in. He also made it seem like he didn't think the squid would "feel right" in this realistic universe (which I believe was the whole point in the book).

This is my opinion-
In the book, Adrian went out of his way to get rid of Manhattan in order to make sure the squid plan went off with out a hitch but also to push him completely out of mankind to the point that he wouldn't feel the need to save them.

I think Synder plans to take this to a point further and convince everyone that Dr. M doesn't only not care but actually feels that mankind needs to be extinguished (think the new "Day the Earth Stood Still"). He fakes an attack and convinces Dr. M to go along with it (just like he did with the squid in the book).

The idea is place fear into worldkind. He is just using Dr. M instead of an Alien invasion. Like I said, I don't think it does what the squid did, but it isn't "that" bad.

In the interview I posted Synder does make a very interesting comment. In making Manhattan the enemy, it begins a "war on god", since in a sense Dr. M is very much like god.

I don't understand how the squid would've required development at all. Hell, the squid was hastily thrown it at the end as it is... well, there was some slight foreshadowing with the people on the island, but other than that.

EDIT:

It makes me think that the real reason is that they pulled the squid out is that when I saw it, I kinda said "a fake alien... what?" It seemed like such an odd thing to do at the end and kinda far off of everything else. So I'd assume they wanted to get away from this thing that may make people think they're ripping off the new Indiana Jones movie 😛.

There was a bit more development than that. There were a number of puzzling references throughout the story that I wasn't able to determine the significance of- Someone stealing the head from the dead body and the continued speculation about the mysterious disappearance of famed artist among them. Even when the ship exploded, I was still perplexed as to what the hell it all added up to.

When the explanations came, they were profoundly disturbing and horrific, and yet, simultaneously glorious, all of it brilliantly expressed by the individual characters. If what is being said about the ending is accurate: For myself, it will kill continuity. It would also destroy Veidt's character. Because it would not just be Jon standing in for the squid, it would mean eliminating all the terrible deeds Veidt engaged in, that were so essential to the storyline, and his character's development.

On a related note, just when you think you have seen every movie tie-in, Along comes another new one

Hmm for some reason I don't remember the talk of the missing head.

But I think that's a good part of a story... when you see all these little things and all of a sudden... bam it all adds up and you think "Ohhhh wow... I never really saw coming that but it makes sense!"
