I would agree that the generaly right thing to do would be to give it back, but i belive that the guy would not feel sorry or even thank you for giving it back. Its more likely that he would laugh at you call you a wuss, keep the watch, if he was stupid enough to leave it there your lucky enough to keep it. 🙂
World is not always as nice as people would like to make it out to be.

*puts on his asbestos undies... just in case*

no, don't give it back, if it was me and someone gave me back a watch that I had lost, I would probably accuse them of stealing it and then I would probably kick their a$$ he doesn't deserve to get his watch back because he was an ass so sell it on egay or something, but don't give it back

call him and tell him you know where his watch is... tell him that if he replaces the skate board or gives a written apology you will tell him where it is.. something might come off it..

if he does not yield.. just keep it for a week or so and tell him that you are not as lousy as him and don't want that stupid watch anyway...

dude..i thought it was funny... a watch aint no harm to nobody.. he has no clue where it went and you've got an extra 100$... big deal.. not like its going to ruin his life, or make you a hero if you give it back... dont bother...

Step one: Get a Polaroid camera. Step Two: Get Gloves Step Three: Get scissors, glue, and a stack of old newspapers and magazines. Need I say more?

Give the watch back and...

a)he realizes what a d!ck he was

or much more likely...

b)he laughs in the face of the guy who is now his b!tch for life

Seriously, if a guy fscks with you and your friends, would you go out of your way to give him back his watch

<< Weelll....about this being legal/illegal...

TECHNICALLY, he does NOT have to give the watch back, and it would be legal for him to keep it. he FOUND the watch in the grass, and the kid could not prove it is his watch. As far as I know, there is not a law where you have to give back something if you find it...even if you do know whose is was. THAT is the morally right thing to do, however.

Warcleric: GREAT IDE....errr...YOU should be ashamed, as well...

😉 😉

Possession IS 9/10 of the law

I'd personally throw it against a nice concrete wall, somewhere where he'd find it. Then again, I have more balls than most people (and can back it up). 🙂

I don't take sh!t from anybody and I feel sorry for people who do/have to. He doesn't owe these guys anything, muchless returning a watch after being insulted.

Anyhow, my 2c.

Call him up in a mysterious voice and tell him you have the watch. Then run him through an elaborate maze of lies and deceit before he finally finds a note that says: "Mine now, sucka!"

It's possible I may have missed the obvious 😱 but how do you know the watch that you found in the grass belongs to one of those guys?
🙂

Good Point...But me, I'd have given it back. Strangest feeling I ever had was when I flipped a guy off in traffic, and he pulled up next to me to ask why I did it. Didn't have a good answer, and never did it again.

He taught me a good life lesson.

Hey some of you guys need to ease off
Personally, I didn't laugh when I read the story but change the perspective a little. A neighborhood punk has been causing trouble for you and your friends for a while now. After he ruins another afternoon (and you're furious), you find his expensive watch. Maybe not laughter but I'd sure feel something similar to that. Of course, what actions you then take are another issue.

As much as I'd hate it, I'd probably give/mail it back. 1) I don't know what sentimental value there is to the watch (even punks have grandfathers or uncles), 2) he's probably going nuts looking for it - why would he "make you his b*tch" for returning it?, and 3) I would be the more mature rising 11th grader.

Also, to those people who criticized the watch - its a lot of money to many people, just not to you guys who have rich parents.

Hey nokkin, have a happy birthday. Despite this punk and your dad's opinions.

That's a pretty nice looking watch, but give it back. Make it seem like you're the better person and he's the ass.

Either give it back and he will be grateful and perhaps even apologize or put it back and hope he finds it. Either way it doesn't affect your Kharma.

Funny stuff. Just keep the watch. I don't think you're going to be condemned to Hell for it or anything! The guy deserved it.
