But you can't go wrong with a Nvidia 7900 series card (who are we kidding: the 7900 GT. The GTX is overpriced and a waste of money to 99% of us).
what?

this was the stupidest thing i've heard al day. (and i read the naruto chapter in which SAI was bieng told about bonds taday tooo)
your writing skills and understasding suck.

2 things for the guy who like oblvion and x1xxx series is the plain choice. and the x1900xtx beats the holy crap out of the 7900gtx in so many benchmarks its crazy. also wtf do you have to to install. i just installed the driver and CCC.
"Well son, I am sorry to disappoint but I will never use an ATi card again. The horrible performance from every generation and now the amount of software you have to load on it these days, your better off selling your soul to the devil. Maybe it is just me, but when you've run a business all your life, you stick to what works best." I turned to my girl friend and said, "Well, that's that love, lets get the hell outta here." Shook the mans hand, wished him a good day, gently kissed the girl, took her hand and headed out the door.

I ended up buying a 7900GT since I have never had problems with Nvidia and couldn't be more happy.

Anyways, cheers, good luck to all those out there with your new video card purchases. This only comes around every blue moon for me (ugh 15 months to be exact), so the new purchase was a special one...

what exactly happened here ?

I always expect problems installing ATI drivers, and I'm rarely disappointed. Throw in my X850XTPE, load up cats 6.4, device unrecognized. Whee! Uninstall, clean, set to vga, clean, reboot, install etc and eventually the driver takes. On a machine that's had nothing *BUT* ATI drivers since it came from the factory. That kind BS should not be necessary.

And Linux? ATI still doesn't think it's important to have working Linux drivers.

All the bad rep ATI gets for crappy drivers is deserved.
