My boss got a IBM laptop (Centrino) and hooked it up to his pre-existing network. He uses a DLink wireless router and it's attacted to his Tivo and his desktop computer.

Everything worked fine until he started using his laptop on the network. Now every time he shuts the laptop down, the Tivo stops working as well. In fact, the only thing he can do to get the Tivo to work again is to rest the router.

I believe his condition recently changed but it's the same type of issue: a conflict using the wireless router when the laptop is shutdown.

I have no idea how to fix this problem, and he wants me to check it out tomorrow.

Please give me ideas!
 
Check for newer drivers for the laptop, and newer firmware for the router? I had some wacky behavior from a Centrino system and a Linksys router until I upgraded them both -- and it's still a bit flaky at times.
 
Ah crap, it's actually a DLink. I'll email the company but I thought someone might know here as well
