It just seems that, nowadays, the perception of how things are going is much more important than the reality of how things are going.

For a lot of people, it would appear that as long as the people in power say that everything's going fine then, goddamit, everything's going fine, and you're a communist/moron/non-patriot for thinking otherwise.

At least, that's how it looks to me. I'm eager to be proven wrong.

I just don't get it.

Bottom line, GW Bush is a likeable guy. I don't care how dumb he comes across, what his views are, or how much of a religious nut the man is, he is extremely likeable. He seems like the kind of guy you'd want to have as your friend. A kind of guy that you could sit down and have a few beers with (hehehe). He's like your dim-witted buddy from high school who tried to copy of your English test b/c he was out huntin' deer with his Uncle Chuck over the weekend.

Can't say the same for Kerry.

Then the American public is dumber than he is.

I never looked at my dim-witted buddy in high school and thought, "Hey! You should be president!"

Yeah, because the american public is not shallow enough to hang him by his mispoken lines.

it wasnt THAT mispoken either, you take almost any single line out of context in any day speech and you can work it to mean ANYTHING.

I would think that one of the qualifications of President is the ability to communicate. Would you want to leave in the room alone with Putin? That's why Cheney has to go with him.

Bush is great. How many of you could stand in front of all those people and cameras, with millions watching live on television, and answer questions about how you are doing your job. He just stands there are takes control of everyone. I don't care what he does with this country, as the daily show said.. George W Bush has huge balls. What a great character to have in the White House

Clinton had huge balls too. Monica knows that, Paula Jones knows that, Jennifer Flowers knows that and Hillary knows that

Hillary does not know, being the only woman not to have slept with the man!

Give me a break. He communicates just fine. You know exactly what he meant to say and the fact is he communicates his policy out effectively enough that most folks understand.

But he denies he attempted to convey that. That makes him either a liar or a lousy communicator

because no one has alerted the mods yet. Also, because this is primarily a bush bashing thread.

I like how people get all defensive when they point out that bush is indded a moron.

Did he sound like an idiot? Yes, but give the man some slack. Some people just aren't good public speakers...I'm one of them. I for one applaud his effort to push for other sources of energy. I'm tired of paying $2.25/gal :|

If there's anything to be remembered from tonight is that: Social Security taxed from you today, will be used up today. What's left is an "I owe you" from the government that will not be there for your retirement. This will not change unless the government passes a bill to change Social Security. Many young people today do not understand this, and it makes me sad. :(

Well said and I agree with your thoughts.
