I was watching UHF recently and it inspired me to create a thread to see what other folks know of funny, strange movies. Here goes my list:
UHF
Galaxy Quest
Any Which Way but Loose
The Princess Bride
Arsenic and Old Lace
Blazing Saddles

Okay, so maybe some of these aren't that strange to you, but I find them to venture off the beaten path.

<< Flesh Eating Mothers
Killer Clowns From Outer Space
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes
Ninja Bachelor Party
UHF

😀

Ouch. Were any of those even played in a theatre?! That must've been a real bad era for movie going.

The only one that I saw at a theater was UHF... The rest were rentals I picked up when I was in college... my buddies and I always picked up the low-budget crap flicks to make fun of. This was even before MST3K was on Comedy Channel.. 😀

Whats UHF? Sounds like u guys are listing the Sat lineup of Scifi! haha.
Put down A Christmas Story and Goonies on this list!

lol UHF and Attack of the Killer Tomatoes are classic!
I just have one to add:

American Movie

For some good laughs, check out LA Story. It's an obscure Steve Martin film about life in California and it's a riot! (Look for the scene when they're on the highway and realize it's the first day of spring, so everyone pulls guns out of their glove compartments and starts shooting at each other 😀)

The strangest: Check out Don Johnson's first movie- A Boy and His Dog. It's a post WWIV movie where Don has a psychic link to his pet pooch and they can talk back and forth as they wander the wastelands. It has everything from mutants to canibalism to clowns to Don being hooked up to a sperm extraction machine...weird but interesting. Watch for the suprise ending!

They aren't funny, but are very disturbing:

Jacob's Ladder
The Serpent and the Rainbow

Both excellent films that I highly recommend. 🙂

amish

I cant believe no ones mentioned Buckaroo Banzai!

And Ill definately go with Being John Malkovich..I loved that movie.

Of recent flicks, Death To Smoochy. A great movie, but most people I know who have seen it dont like it.

I just bought Jacob's Ladder on DVD.

Here's a couple more funny/strange:

Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Rubin and Ed
Wild at Heart
