Funniest show on tv

Community takes the most unorthodox chances, and often succeeds. The writing is stellar, too. For any one episode, Parks and Rec or Modern Family can take top spot.

Last year I would have said Modern Family hands down. But I feel it's kind of running in place while both Community and Parks and Rec have continued to improve.

Also, Archer.

One new sitcom that I haven't seen mentioned here but that I've taken a shine to is Happy Endings. All three female leads -- Elisha Cuthbert, Casey Wilson, Eliza Coupe -- rawk, each in a different way. And the writing is often top notch!

And because I care, a couple of Happy Endings compilation clips for your delectation:

2 Broke Girls.

Just kidding it sucks, but the brunette is gorgeous.

Agreed on both counts, but, BOY, does it majorly suck -- laugh track and all.

Honestly, is there a sitcom that still has a laugh track that isn't dull, cliched, derivative and intensely awful?

Anyone who answers in a fashion other than The League has Dreids. May Mr. McGibblets come and cleaver your soul. All hail the Shiva!

the league appears to be extreme niche humor. And in that, extreme nerd-niche humor. that is why it suffers.

I think this also hurts Community, as it requires an extensive bank of American pop-culture knowledge to get most of the humor.

Parks & rec is amazing. It's the only show I can think of where the first season was such pure garbage and seemingly deserved to be canceled but the second season and beyond have been hysterical!

The first season was also awesome!

:colbert:

(but it has gotten even better)

Community and Bored to Death. Everything else pales in comparison as far as I'm concerned.

To the shows that were mentioned:

Curb is todays seinfeld.

I gave the league a chance at first, and watched up until halfway through the second season, but eventually got bored because of how corny it is.

I thought rafie was pretty funny, but the guy who is a pot head isnt funny at all. I like the chubby guy with the hot wife, and the other 2 guys are ok. but the show is nothing compared to sunny.

Least funny moments: Naginta song by pothead idiot, shiva bowl shuffle song i saw a few weeks ago.

Im going to give community a shot since ive heard good things from people on here and also from some of my friends.

Parks and Rec looked ok, but besides ron swanson, everyone else is just ok. This small segment made me want to watch: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/08/ron-swanson-vs-food-video_n_893480.html

Archer looks pretty good too, saw a few episodes.

I don't understand everyone's infatuation with Parks and Recreation. I mean, it's good, and I enjoy watching it... but I wouldn't call it 'the best' comedy on TV. Two or three good jokes per episode isn't really all that impressive.

you're a terrible human being and you should closely examine the life choices that brought you to this point of misanthropy. :colbert:

I've yet to find one of the "sit-coms" that is worth watching. Most are more stupid than funny.
Watched the pilot episode of Last Man Standing starring Tim Allen last night. Not so good either. Seems like they were trying to hard to make "ooh-ooh-ooh...me man!" jokes.

I stopped reading at Tim Allen.
