Running an auction now on a surround receiver- some of the email offers I receive are quite laughable. I even had a request to sell the remote seperately from the unit.

I know I'm not the only one receiving these- share your own.:)

remotes can be quite expensive

i was quoted $90 from harman kardon remote for the AVR 320 because a lot of the receivers on ebay do not come with remotes and the
it costs quite a bit from the manufacturer

I was asked how much I'd sell my broken PS2 for, even though I was selling a working one, with it stated in the title and description.

I told the guy I'd be happy to take his $200 and break it.

Yeah, I know remotes are expensive but that wasn't the point.

Without the remote, the receiver would be useless to anyone who wanted it- and would defeat the whole purpose of my auction.

I replied that he was free to bid on the remote and I'd throw in the receiver for free.:)

I always get the "How about I pay you $xxxx for it, and you cancel the auction.." messages. These usually come at the beginning of the auction, and the offer is for about half what it eventually sells for.

Bah.

Guess I can't blame folks for trying.

Maybe one day I'll give them their discount then slap on a Festivus surcharge. :D
