That's not the case: he's attended 4 times as many fundraisers in 9 months as his two predecessors did in their entire first year in office. For a man who inherited a horrible economy, two wars and a host of major issues like healthcare, he sure does seem to have a lot of time to waste on fundraisers, getting on letterman, giving speeches, trying to get the olympic games to Chicago etc etc. No, this is not what's been going on forever, he's the emty suit rock star president.

A few things - Clinton only attended 5 in his first year - and in the first round of elections, the Dems lost their majority - I would think it prudent to avoid repeating this strategy.

2nd - Bush actually raised 48M in his 6 fundraisers, Obama is clocking in at just 21M for this fundraising activities thus far - and many of them are taking place on the same days. Interesting disparity there.

Also - what was Bush's first year again? Wasn't there some big event that fall that might have curtailed any fall fund-raising he had planned?

Should we be surprised that foxnews is the only major news outlet running this story?
