Pulled this off of a buy/sale newsgroup where some guy was trying to sell a geForce2 card. Thought some might get a kick out of it as it speaks to NVidia's policy of "releasing" drivers every couple of weeks.

(Friend) Let's play NFS.
(GF User) Wait lemme switch to the 6.321 driver..
(Friend) Then play Unreal...
(GF User) Wait I have to switch to the 5.177 driver...
(Friend) Alright just play Quake.
(GF User) Wait I better use the 6.022 driver for better framerates.
(Friend) Nevermind. What's your 3DMark?
(GF User) Wait I need to download driver 6.51 for 50 higher marks.
(Friend) Forget it, let's check out my homepage.
(GF User) Wait I gotta lower the resolution and refresh rate because the
text is all fuzzy.

Cheers,

Either way it is kinda dumb to continually release drivers that,

1. Increase frame rates at the expense of image quality,
2. Improve image quality at the expense of frame rates,
3. Activate FSAA at the expense of framerates,
4.........get my point?????

I have had many Nvidia products and they all have been excellent for one thing or another! But Nvidia need to get it straight about what they are producing! Do they want:

1. The fastest card on the market,
2. The best image quality on the market,
3. The best of both worlds,
4.....what the hell do they want???

ATI have great image quality and now with the radeon, a damn fast card. 3DfX have a damn fast card with great FSAA and image quality also. But they are very clear in letting the consumer know what their offering is!

Just my 0.02.....

To me it's pretty easy knowing what they want:

1. The fastest card on the market

Personally, i love my V5 and Radeon 64DDR VIVO much better than the GF2 (which i also had), but a lot of people are eating up the benchmarks and believe all the hype.
