SSL-Explorer is a unique remote access solution that provides users and businesses alike with a means of securely accessing network resources from outside the network perimeter using only a standard web browser. This fully-featured SSL VPN solution is designed to offer all users access to this young and exciting technology for very little expense.

Lowest TCO of any SSL VPN Solution
SSL-Explorer is an open source product. This means you are free to download, use and redistribute the software in any way you see fit (see licensing information). This fully-featured SSL VPN solution is designed to offer all users access to this young and exciting technology for very little expense. Since there are no license fees, there is also no set limit to the number of simultaneous users who may access the VPN - the limit depends only on the performance of the PC you choose to install it on.
Secure Remote Intranet and Extranet Access
Most modern businesses have a requirement for decentralised access to information for employees, partners, suppliers or customers. Thankfully, commonly needed information can be shared easily using SSL-Explorer to provide access to your intranet web resources or legacy applications.
Reduce IT Management Costs
Our solution goes further than conventional SSL VPNs in that it offers users the ability to remotely manage their network hardware, servers and desktop PC's with the assurance of total security. SSL-Explorer can help reduce your IT operational costs by allowing support staff to extend their coverage to remote sites. Remote management using graphical or console sessions is possible using plug-ins for SSH1/2, SFTP, Telnet, VNC, Citrix and Terminal Services/RDP.
A Scalable Software Solution
No expensive dedicated network appliance purchase is necessary as our solution will run on most popular operating systems today on a modest specification PC. Being software-based, increasing VPN throughput is a simple matter of upgrading common hardware components on your host system such as CPU or memory.

Free is good 🙂 That is a great idea and concept....for the home or a small business. I couldn't see a "real" business purpose though. Maybe I'm spoiled by all the Cisco stuff we use.

This release of the SSL-Explorer is licensed under the GNU General Public License.

*sigh* Some people will piggy-back any concept. Let's revisit this in a year and see where their license stands.

Downloading it now...I wonder if this would work to let me access the LAN I'm going to set up for my nonprofit's school in Varanasi. I'm not sure how useable it'd be over a cable connection in India...those tend to have abysmal upload speeds. Can anyone comment on the minimum "useable" internet connection speeds for the machine acting as the server?

Indeed and bump

Is there a way to have it be able to remote desktop into the computer by just having a web addy redirect it (with a free dynamic ip website) just like gotomypc has it? ^_~ would be one sweet program if it could. I was trying to mess around with it, but can't quite figure out what other things to run the server other then running the "setup" of it. Oh well guess i'll have to keep playing with it

so what does it run. WHat are min. specs for the client. I don't want to download the thing without more info. I am currently using m0n0wall for my home router/vpn (still haven't got the vpn up and running yet I have been spoiled by cisco too). I will try something new if the docs. are there.

*nevermind found the docs. Dang this thing needs some firepower to run

PIII 1Ghz
512Mb Ram

my m0n0wall 1.11 is running off of a slapped togethor scrap heap of hardware
a k6-2 400 Mhz (way over kill cause it will run off of anything)
128mb ram
no harddrive (all config files are on a floppy and it boots from a cdrom!)

Did i mention that it's free too! The only problem I am having is finding a free client. Anyone got any ideas let me know.
