Voted 30-40k. I'll almost definitely clear 40k w/OT, though.

I'm assuming that most votes > $100,000 are lies. They can be discarded.

Well after Ferrari repairs and paying for the super-model gf's shopping habit I think their take-home is slightly under $100K.

i am willing to bet the majority over $70k are.

at 25 the odds on makeing that much unless you own a business (even then its damn hard), are a doctor , lawyer or such (wich is not many people) are slim.

And most doctors and lawyers don't finish school until after 25.

>70K <25y/o isn't unbelievable, I make more than 70K.

There is a lot of wage inflation, when I started 55K-60K was base for a new consultant (analyst) level, now new analysts come in at 65K.

Then of course there are all the ibankers...

Also depends on where you are - $40k here is probably $100k in NYC. :p

i didn't say it was impossible. i said odds are the majority are going to lie.

i am sure there are many here that do it. just not as many as are going to claim they do.

I think its entirely possible to make >70K by the age of 25, when I was working the last summer at an electric utility the new engineers were making that much and they were only 3 years out of college, so ~25 years of age, the one guy who was 5 years out of college was making 87,000$ and this is just as a bottom level engineer with no type of management experience. Also this was in the southeast, so in most other places in the country I would expect people to be making even more.

TBH I sort of expect to make 70,000K when I am 25 based on my starting salary, and I has less than a 3.0 GPA at an engineering school not even in the top 40. My twin brother goes to MIT and more or less every single engineer he knows is making 75,000$ the day they graduate, and I am sure a good number will be making 100,000$ by the age of 25.

^ true. i'm 23 and base salary is 54k, but with OT it's more like 61 and expect to be getting a raise to around 66 in the next 6 months, when i'm 24 so not too far off!

My base salary right now is about 52K...but I'll easily break 60K this year with OT. Thats not counting the pay raise I'll get which should be about 3 to 3.5%. With that I might hit 70K this year w/ OT

I'm 22 ATM

I'm in a similar boat but I just turned down a job for 67k because of the location (I'm 23).

Hard to get a good job where I want it... but now I work out of home and have internet + phone paid for. Not much but its something.

No gas to use driving to work is awesome plus no drive time. Base salary is 48k + OT + 13k bonus opp working 4 days a week. I like it.

I think what gets me to stay is within a few years I can get ~58k base salary + OT + 21k bonus opp all while working from home. To me its worth it. I'll take a job for less money to work from home and work 4 days a week with paid OT at time and a half and double time on holidays.

When I was 25 I made in the 50K-60K range.
This is not counting non-primary employment sources of income.

Engineering can often go above that amount. I believe we have a lot of people working in that area here.

Tons of people earn over $70k at that age. I started well over $70k in my first job out of school. It depends on what you do. It's not uncommon for an engineer.

Every time I look at these threads I'm a little shocked to see so many people making such high salaries and then I realize that most people here don't really reflect the general population. You guys all have engineering degrees, CS degrees, going to med school, etc.
